Bethia’s origins are rooted in a family passion: the breeding of thoroughbred race horses. In 1987, Liliana Solari Falabella bought an estate in Los Angeles and founded the breeding farm “Haras Don Alberto”. She was following in her father’s footsteps, Alberto Solari Magnasco, a renowned breeder. Ms. Solari’s children, Andrea and Carlos Heller, developed business ventures based on the stables: a dairy named Ancali and milk transportation trucks (Sotraser). |
Bethia, the company name, was taken from one of the first winning mares. This brought together the emerging family business. Haras Don Alberto is now the main horse breeding farm in Chile. In 2013 it became part of the equestrian world elite with the purchase of Vinery, a major horse breeding farm in Kentucky, United States. Bethia is one of the most important and diversified business groups in Chile. It has been present for over 25 years in several economic sectors. |
The group’s productive activities center on agriculture, through Ancali; transport, through Sotraser and communications through MEGA. All in all, Bethia employs more than 4,000 people. In addition to the above, the group has long-term investments in Falabella, LATAM Airlines, Colmena and Aguas Andinas, among others.

Our model is based on six basic
principles: top quality milk, cow
comfort, efficient use of technology,
genetic selection, process efficiency,
and human resources.
Thanks to Ancali we revolutionized dairy and livestock production. We combined technology, animal care and sustainability to achieve enhanced performance.
It is the most important stabled dairy in South America and, world-wide, one of the most technologically advanced. The model is based on the principle of “cow comfort”, which allows for high productivity with maximum care for the stock and the environment.
Ancali is a pioneer in terms of innovation. In 2013, it developed one of the largest biodigesters in Latin America. In 2014 it was one of the first dairies in the world to implement a robotic dairy.
We provide comprehensive, specialized
services, adapted to the specific needs
of our customers in practically all
areas of economic activity.
With more than 700 trucks that deliver specialized services for Chile’s major
industries –particularly mining and forestry— Sotraser is the largest land
freight operator in Chile.
With over 20 years of experience, the Company, which originated in the
Bethia group, provides services that range from transporting freight by road
throughout the country to moving special loads –either due to their large
size or weight—including hazardous materials such as fuels and chemicals.
Sotraser is known for delivering services that stand out for high quality
and safety: its trucks are fully equipped with GPS systems which are
supported by a central continuous monitoring system.
In terms of infrastructure support, Sotraser has first class equipment for
the operation and maintenance of its trucks. This includes ensuring that
its truck drivers get a chance to rest properly.
Sotraser is certified under ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001: 2004;
OHSAS 18001: 2007. It also has the Energy Efficiency label awarded by
the Ministry of Energy.
We are carrying out an ambitious
restructuring so as to have the best
technical and human capabilities
that strengthen as us as leaders
MEGA was born in 1990 as the first private broadcasting TV channel of the country. In 2012 has been purchased by Bethia that has fostered an independent programming guideline with a massive, and cross-sectional vocation. From the creation of the drama, cultural, sports and reality areas, along with the strategic selection of foreign products ―such as the Turkish soap operas,― and the strengthening of the media area, MEGA has positioned as the most watched channel by the Chileans, reaching a historical rating leadership.
In 2016, a new milestone is reached, after the purchase of 27.5% of the channel by the communications giant Discovery Communications, projecting MEGA internationally and reassuring its commitment to become a global content factory.
In 2017, in order to reinforce its multiplatform vision, Infinita, Carolina, Romántica, and Tiempo radio stations have been purchased.
In 2019 Megaplus starts broadcasting, a cable signal featured oriented that looks life through a global approach. Science, trends, lifestyle, gastronomy, and the world are part of its offer.
The same year, Megamedia is created, which turned to be the Chile’s most relevant communications holding, hosting three TV channels (Mega, Megaplus and ETC), five radio stations (Candela, Infinita, Carolina, Romántica, and Tiempo), and eight websites.
Been part of the life of millions of people, Megas’s purpose is consolidating as a factory of contents, that are reflected through its different TV platforms, radio stations in Chile and digital media for the world.
